Forces & Mechanisms
This project teaches children about the forces of gravity, air resistance, water resistance and friction, with children exploring their effects. They learn about mechanisms, their uses and how they allow a smaller effort to have a greater effect.

Earth & Space
This project teaches children about our Solar System and its spherical bodies. They describe the movements of Earth and other planets relative to the Sun, the Moon relative to Earth and the Earth's rotation to explain day and night.
History
Dynamic Dynasties
This project teaches children about the history of ancient China, focusing primarily on the Shang Dynasty, and explores the lasting legacy of the first five Chinese dynasties, some of which can still be seen in the world today.

Investigating Our World
This essential skills and knowledge project teaches children about locating map features using a range of methods. They learn about the Prime Meridian, Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), and worldwide time zones and study interconnected climate zones, vegetation belts and biomes. Children learn about human geography and capital cities worldwide before looking at the UK motorway network and settlements. They carry out an enquiry to identify local settlement types.

Tints, Tones & Shades
This project teaches children about colour theory by studying the colour wheel and exploring mixing tints, shades and tones. They learn about significant landscape artworks and features of landscapes before using this knowledge to create landscape paintings.

Taotie
This project teaches children about the significance and art of the taotie motif, including ancient and contemporary casting methods.

Moving Mechanisms
This project teaches children about pneumatic systems. They experiment with pneumatics before designing, making and evaluating a pneumatic machine that performs a useful function.

Creative Composers - Pulse and Rhythm
In this unit, children will learn about the pentatonic scale and how this was used during ancient civilisations to create music. The children will compose their own pieces, using the glockenspiel, considering rhythm.

Notable Notations - Composition and Notation
Children will learn to compose and write notation for a soundtrack that could be played as part of the upcoming Hindu ‘Holi’ festival. Children will explore how different sounds can represent spring and record their notation using some musical notation symbols.

Green Screen
Video Manipulation
This unit will teach children how to create their own videos using green screen. They will learn how to do this through using an app called ‘Doink’. The children will learn to crop, resize, split screens, change backgrounds and add text as well as evaluate and improve their creations.

Programming
In this project, children will learn how to create simple algorithms, using a programme called ‘scratch’ to create quizzes for their friends. Children will learn how to create commands and sequences of commands to enable their audiences to select an answer.

Core - Cognitive
In this unit, children are taught to develop their cognitive skills by making decisions when working in teams and independently. They will focus on developing stance and footwork and learn how this can help them to improve their performance.

In this unit, children will learn how to be creative, changing tactics, rules and tasks to make activities more fun and challenging. They will focus on developing their seated balance and floor work.

Properties & Changes of Materials
This project teaches children about the wider properties of materials and their uses. They learn about mixtures and how they can be separated using sieving, filtration and evaporation. They study reversible and irreversible changes, and use common indicators to identify irreversible changes.
History
Dig for Victory
The children will learn about how food was rationed during WW2 so communities were encouraged to use their gardens, allotments and common spaces to grow and harvest vegetables.

Sow, Grow & Farm
This project teaches children about the features and characteristics of land use in agricultural regions across the world, including a detailed exploration of significant environmental areas.

Line, Light & Shadows
This project teaches children about the visual qualities of line, light and shadow. They explore the work of Pablo Picasso and Rembrandt and are introduced to a range of shading techniques. They take black and white photographs and use pencil, pen and ink wash to reimagine their photographs in a shaded drawing.

Nature's Art
This project teaches children about the genre of land art. They work outdoors to sketch natural forms and explore the sculptural potential of natural materials before working collaboratively to create land art installations.

This project teaches children about the meaning and benefits of seasonal eating, including food preparation and cooking techniques.

Comparative Composers - Significant People
During this term, the children will study significant composers from the Baroque period, such as Vivaldi. The children will apply their listening and appreciation skills to compare the composers, as well as explore why they were significant in the composition of music during this time period.

Heavenly Harmonisers - Music Appreciation and Listening
This unit teaches children to sing in rounds and harmonise together, forming their singing parts for the end-of-year production. They will improve their vocal skills and collaborate to create a successful performance. By the end of the unit, they will be able to perform in rounds and harmonise effectively as a group.

Showcase!
AR & VR
In this project, children will learn to use VR and AR to create an interactive display to showcase their learning. They will learn how scanning a picture can bring it to life on an ipod or smart device and how this can be used to advertise and showcase ideas to many people.

Data handling
Children will learn how to use different formulae to total and record data. This will link to their Maths Statistics unit. Google sheets will be used for this unit.
