What is it?

  • The pupil premium grant is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England.
  • It’s a school-level grant that gives schools extra resources to help them meet challenges, including those arising from deprivation.

What is it for?

  • Improve the academic outcomes of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities
  • Close the attainment gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers across the country.

Our £100 Offer ...

  • We give £100 to each child currently eligible for free school meals to ensure that it can be spent directly on them.
  • Did you know that the school receives a Pupil Premium payment for the year in which families are eligible for free school meals and automatically for the following five years? 
  • This year it is £1,300 per free school meal pupil. 
  • This additional funding will be invested in your child to help them achieve more at school.​​

That sounds good, how do I know if I am eligible?

  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs (HMRC) that does not exceed £16,190
  • Income Support
  • income-based Jobseeker's Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • income-based and Contributions-based JSA and ESA on an equal basis
  • Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit
  • Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for four weeks after the person stops qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • Universal Credit – during the initial roll-out of the benefit.​
