Uniform & Equipment

Uniform booklet

Principles

  1. All students should wear their uniform when attending school, when representing the school or when participating in an event organised by the school outside of school hours. Some visits, e.g. day trips and residential trips, do not require students to wear school uniform – this will be at the discretion of the teacher responsible for the visit.

  2. We ask all parents who send their children to Oakfield to ensure they comply with this policy. Parents are expected to send their children to school dressed correctly, ready for their studies, ensuring that the uniform is clean and in good repair.

  3. All staff in Oakfield will support the School Uniform Policy by promoting and maintaining high expectations with regards to uniform and appearance in lessons.

  4. The Trust is responsible for implementing the School Uniform Policy. It liaises with the Headteacher to ensure that the policy is implemented.

  5. Oakfield welcomes children from all backgrounds and faith communities. If any parents would like the School to modify the uniform policy (e.g. on religious grounds), they should make a written representation in the first instance to the Headteacher - the Governing Body will consider such requests sympathetically. This is equally the case on medical grounds.

Yes please ...
  • Uniform

    • See above

  • P.E. Kits

    • Children may be able to wear this to school on P.E. days.

  • Bags

    • Please only send small bags, we don't have enough space for large bags and our corridors can become quite overcrowded.

  • Water Bottles

    • Water only please.

  • Lunch Boxes

No thanks ...
  • Pencil Cases & Personal Stationery

    • We have everything your child needs in school. Teachers may occasionally give permission for children in Year 5 and Year 6 to bring in their own items as part of a project or to help them 'Be Ready' but no child will be left out if they don't have access.

  • Trinkets, personal possessions (including lip balms) and toys

    • These can be lost and cause distractions. For some children teachers may give permission for a 'transition object' to be brought into school for a small period of time.

  • Mobile Phones, Smart Watches, Cameras & Other Technology

    • Mobile phones may be sent in with children when they are in Year 5 and 6 if absolutely necessary. These must be handed in at the start of the day and will be returned at the end. Cameras and recording equipment are strictly prohibited.
